Reviewing the recent list of carwashes and detail businesses visited by the California Labor Commissioner's Office during the recent sweep over a total of 247 businesses were visited.

Based on the identifiable names there were 58 detail businesses visited, both fixed and mobile operations.  That is nearly 25% of the total businesses visited.

The detail businesses were assessed over $200,000 in fines and at least 11 were individually at least $10,000 or more for discovered violations.

The reason for the post is to let those operating a carwash/detail business in California that this is not going to go away anytime soon, and that it is clear that the law is being enforced, as this is the 5 sweep conducted since the law was enacted.

And be aware other states will follow suit when they realize how many violations of various laws there are by carwashes and detail businesses.

The Members Only page of the IDA website has information for members that will allow them to learn about the mandatory California registration law.

As well there is information on all the other compliance laws a detailer anywhere in the USA must comply with.

You are urged to operate your business in compliance with the laws of the land, I doubt there are many of you who could afford at $10,000 + fine.

Regards
